What this site does with information about you, what your browser keeps, and where to write about any of it.
Last updated 25 October 2026. This policy covers A Little Shelf at littleshelf.org. In short: you can read every page without an account, we run no analytics and no ads, and the site keeps nothing about your visit beyond what a passage below says a part of it asks you for.
What we collect
Nothing about you, unless a part of this site described below asks you for it. There are no accounts to make just to read, no newsletter and no tracking. We run no analytics, no advertising and no tracking tools of any kind, and the pages load nothing from anywhere but this site, except where a paragraph here says so.
Connection details
Like every website, this one can only reach you by receiving the address and details your browser sends with each request. The service that delivers our pages uses them to send each page and to protect the site from abuse. We keep no log of them and look no one up.
What your browser keeps
If you choose light or dark with the switch, your browser remembers that choice on your device, so the next page opens the same way. It never leaves your device, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.
Links to retailers
A product’s link takes you to the retailer’s own site, and tells it that you came from us, so that a purchase can earn us a commission. Once you arrive, the retailer may set its own cookies, including one that credits a purchase to us, under its own privacy policy. From the retailer we receive totals only: which products were bought through our links and what we earned. Never your name, your address or anything else that says who you are.
Children
This site is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect nothing from a child, and hold about anyone only what the passages above say.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Where this site keeps nothing, we will say so plainly. Write to us through the link under Who we are.
Changes to this policy
If what this site does with data changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. Anything new collected about you would be said here before it happens.
The search box
What you type into the store’s search box stays in the page and is gone when you leave.
